York Appreciation Dinner Performance A Surprise!

Brenda Rider and Janeen Williams sing special York song
New song "Hand in Hand" as Thank You
for the support of the Yorks

The April 21st Communicator Dinner R.O.C.c.K. Children's Choir performance of the brand-new song "Hand to Hand" written just for John and Denise York to honor them for their support, was just AWWWSOME!!! The Yorks were surprised and deeply delighted by the new song thanking them for their help. The Choir also learned another new song just in time to sing it for the Yorks at the dinner.

The Yorks are sponsors who have been very enthusaistically supportive of the activities and goals of the A Way With Words Foundation, Inc. Learn more about Denise DeBartolo-York.

Caught on camera! This choice day of fun and fundraising for the R.O.C.c.K. Children's Choir in 2006 at the Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio was made possible with the help of racetrack co-owner and operator, Kate Blaney and her husband Lou. Kate is on the above far left, standing next to Charlotte Labuda, the choir's director and choreographer.

The choir was also present to cheer on one of their favorite sponsors --- driver and stock car owner Stan Woomer.

At least once during the summer racing season at the track, the Choir appears to perform and raise money for cancer research and support programs. On Father's Day weekend in 2007, the choir members painted small rocks with their T-shirt colors and wrote "Dad ROCcKS." The money raised from the sale of the rocks was donated to the Victory Junction Gang Camp. The Choir is again caught on camera, this time as they sang the National Anthem in
2007 and 2008 at the beginning of the races.
